Copenhagen Slim Band (US)

Allthough you can catch hints of Delta Blues and other Americana, Chicago blues and big city soul is at the core of Copenhagen Slim Band’s vibe and repertoire.

Releasing the album “CPH Slim” in 2009 brought critical aclaim, especially a review awarding 4/6 hearts in Denmarks main cultural paper “Politiken” was big praise from a newspaper that rarely ever reviews blues or roots releases.

The band has been working and wow’ing people for 8 years now and is frequently used as a backing band for several blues headliners when visiting Scandinavia.

In 2013 one of swedens main bluesfestivals the Åmål Blues Festival got a visit from Copenhagen Slim Band as backing for Muddy Waters’ former Lead guitarist Mr.John Primer.

In 2014 The band has been touring with John Primer and Lurrie Bell who won the award for best blues song of the year of 2014 at the international blues awards.

The Lead guitarist Rune Højmark has been with Copenhagen Slim Band from its very beginning. Rune is one of the leading roots guitarists on the Danish scene, and specializes in electric guitar, slide playing and pedal steel guitar.

The bands drummer Michael Strange who played on jazz pianist and singer Jamie Cullums release “Twenty something” that sold worldwide comes from the jazz scene but since his joining Copenhagen Slim band has grown to become an impressive blues/soul drummer.

The accomplished bass player Kristian Bast who is a new addition to the band since 2012.
